Tata Passenger Electric Mobility (TPEM), a part of Tata Motors, has opened its largest EV store in India in Edappally, Kochi, covering over 8,800 square feet. Along with another store in Kalamassery, these exclusive TATA.ev stores are designed to offer a unique and premium experience for electric vehicle (EV) buyers. The launch reflects the growing interest in EVs and the changing preferences of consumers in India.

Tata Passenger Electric Mobility (TPEM) has played a key role in driving India's EV revolution. The opening of these dedicated stores aligns with the growing sophistication in consumer buying habits. As more people look for a unique and personalized experience when purchasing an EV, TPEM meets these expectations with its TATA.ev brand. These stores are specially designed for EV buyers, offering a welcoming environment where customers can share information, receive advice, and get guidance. The focus is on blending community, technology, and sustainability to enhance the overall experience.

According to Shailesh Chandra, Managing Director, Tata Passenger Electric Mobility Ltd., and Tata Motors Passenger Vehicles Ltd., "As the leading market for electric mobility in the country with 5.6% EV penetration, the people of Kerala have led the way in adopting future facing technologies, making it a clear choice for us to inaugurate our next set of premium Tata.ev stores in the state. We have seen how the discerning EV consumer has matured and demand a premium ownership experience. To cater to this archetype, Tata Motors is committed to continue democratizing EVs for the mass market coupled with offering a sophisticated and digitized ownership experience. Furthermore, we will soon open a set of 5 exclusive EV service centres across key cities in Kerala. For us, creating an upscale purchase and ownership experience through Tata.ev stores and service centres is an important cog in India’s electric revolution. These are critical milestones as we move firmly towards the inflection point for EV adoption in the country."

The TATA.ev store in Edappally is Tata's largest EV store in India, spanning over 8,800 square feet. This large space allows for displaying more than 10 vehicles and provides plenty of parking for customers and visitors. The store also includes a 60 kW DC fast charger and offers the new TATA.ev Originals accessory range for purchase.

Tata.ev service facility

To further improve the customer experience, a dedicated EV service facility is scheduled to open in the coming months. This facility will include 17 service bays—12 for mechanical work and 5 for body shop repairs—capable of servicing over 800 vehicles each month. The workshop will be staffed by a team of highly trained and skilled professionals to ensure top-quality after-sales service for Tata EV owners.
The launch of these EV-exclusive stores and the soon-to-open service centers demonstrates TPEM's dedication to offering a premium ownership experience while promoting the wider adoption of electric vehicles in India. Choosing Kochi for these launches underscores the region's strong interest in technology and sustainability, positioning it as a key player in advancing the country's electric mobility movement.

Through these strategic initiatives, Tata Passenger Electric Mobility (TPEM) aims to make electric vehicles more accessible to the general public while providing a refined, digitalized ownership experience. These efforts represent key milestones in advancing the widespread adoption of EVs across India.
