Tata Technologies and BMW Group have officially launched their joint venture, BMW TechWorks India. This 50:50 partnership will create digital solutions for smart vehicles, automated driving, digital entertainment, and automotive software services.
With the contracts now signed and approved by the authorities, the joint venture will start operations with 100 employees in key technology centers in Pune, Bengaluru, and Chennai.
Autocar Professional was the first to report that Tata Technologies and BMW Group were forming a joint venture to meet the engineering and software needs of the luxury car brand.
The venture aims to grow quickly and hopes to have a workforce in the thousands by the end of 2025, with a strong focus on bringing in the best engineering talent from India.
The joint venture will deliver digital innovations for BMW Group's Business IT. This means BMW TechWorks India will help speed up the digital transformation of the car maker’s global production network and improve its digital customer experience and sales processes. A major focus will also be on developing AI applications and platforms to enhance the speed and efficiency of key business processes.
